Where have all the U13’s rugby players gone?

Tows M&J rugby section desperately needs help in recruiting more under 13 players for this coming season!

In our proud history at Towcestrians we have seen most of our very successful First XV squad emerge from our Mini and Junior section and it is the envy of most of the clubs in the region!

Playing Rugby, like many team sports teaches life lessons that you will carry throughout your life. It teaches respect for others, respect for authority and their peers and elders. It teaches you how to combine your skills with that of others in your team. It gives a feeling of camaraderie and the sense of belonging not just a team but to the club as a whole. Rugby also develops the body physically and mentally which is vital in today’s world and provides all the exercise required to stay fit and healthy.

This season however, we are desperately short of players so we are asking if any of you parents have boys that qualify or have friends with children that could be interested, to help us with this recruitment drive!

To be eligible to play in the under 13’s the boy must be under 13 years of age when they start term in September or School Year 8.

The U13’s play full contact 15 a-side rugby. They currently train every Sunday between 10-11.30 pre-season training so any new recruits will be welcome at any time. Games are also on Sunday mornings during the season. Further mid-week training will start in the season on Wednesday evenings TBC.

Games against other clubs are friendly but they are also being entered this year into a Cup competition!

Food is provided for them after games and hot food and drinks are always available to purchase throughout Sunday mornings!

Full playing kit needs to be purchased and is available from the club shop as is their smart No. 1’s.

Subscriptions are just £80 for the whole season.

We also have a vacancy in the U13’s for a fixtures manager if you would like to volunteer! As well as providing a peaceful time to enable you to read the Sunday newspapers on a Sunday morning you might like to come along to support your kids and maybe become involved helping run not just the team but the M&J section and the Tows itself. By joining as a Social member you obtain discounted bar prices but it also gives discounts on many other items and services.

Please see the Towcestrians website https://towcestrians.azurewebsites.net/ for details on how to join as well as clicking on the M&J site to navigate to the Junior rugby site to learn more.

If you would like your child to join and play rugby please contact Lee Kitching ocltester@gmail.com

We look forward to seeing you and your children soon at Towcestrians
