Sports Update

A hugely disappointing weekend for Tows 1st XV. They lost to one of their nearest rivals Newbury who have done the double over us! Despite most of the possession and territory Tows just couldn’t force the ball over the line. We now need to win 3 out of the last 4 games! It could go down to the wire…. Match report follows on the rugby website. Unfortunately the head coaches comments were not suitable to be printed here……

The mighty 2’s however march  on! They had a great result over Nuneaton away, who are some testing opponents. Mark Frost’s match result is available to read, also on the rugby website!

No time to lick the wounds! The 1st XV have to pick themselves up and face our biggest Northants rivals, ON’s, on Wednesday 23rd March, for the bragging rights in the Semi Final of the Lewis shield. KO is at 7.30 pm at Northampton Boys School (diagonally opposite ON’s ground!). ON’s will also be hurting after a comprehensive thrashing at the weekend!

It doesn’t end there. On Tuesday April 12th at the same venue, at the same time, against the same opponents, we do it all over again, this time in the Semi-Final of the Alliance Cup. Please put a note in your diaries and come along and supports the Tows!

On a happy note, Tows Ladies 1st X1 hockey team managed to maintain Midlands 1 status and escaped relegation. Now to build for next season…. Well done ladies.
