Golf Day

Tows held their first Golf Society (TOGS) day on Friday 16th at Silverstone Golf Club.

30 golfers of all ages, genders, abilities, tows and guests alike assemble to do battle in Teams using the Texas Scramble format! Having assembled early and consumed the bacon rolls tea/coffee and the odd pint battle commenced. On a perfect afternoon of weather and on an ideal course suited to Togs there could be no excuses for poor play! But there were plenty! However a few teams put in some decent returns. Runners up were Jim Wallis’s Team, but narrowly beating them and taking the coveted “Texas Tows” trophy was Andy Green’s Team seen pictured with the rest of his team, Jon Green, Neville Onan-Reed and Colin Forrester, congratulations!

Longest Drive was smashed by Danny Edwards

Nearest the Pin bit by Andy Basford

Shortest Drive off the 1st Tee claimed by James Petit!

After the awards back to the Tows where the cricket section served up great burgers, beers ordered and watched the Saints beat the Tigers, a perfect end to a perfect day…………

A great day and by popular demand another will be arranged for late summer and we hope more people will attend and enjoy this very social golf!

Thanks to Darren and Robbie for helping organise the day! another great Tows day out!
